Meet Rituparna- the girl with the magic creative mind. She took on an unusual challenge and totally smashed it. #girlpower. What was the challenge you ask?
Early in April, she was reading a boom Meik Wiking titled Hygge when she encountered the word Tokka – Finnish for a really large horde of reindeers – which is untranslatable in other languages simply because it isn’t relevant. That led her to thinking- hey how many words are there such Tokka?
Her mind took her to an awesome challenge where she decided to make original artwork for words that no one has heard off for 100 days. #The100DayProject – a global art project where participants commit to a theme and upload their original work every day, for a 100 days, on Instagram. And guess what? She aced it.
These drawing are absolutely beautifully painted in watercolor and takes around 5 hours for each pic!
She is a co-founder of a design house in Bombay , but still finds the time in her busy life to make her day shine. And lookie here, she even made our local kaali peeli!
Day 11 – The word may be unfamiliar but it's surely one of our favourite pastimes! I've probably been on countless Fikas / or did a Fika at work (yep, can be used both as a noun or verb). I even thought of recycling some old sketch while on a Fika but thought better of it. So here's today's sketch, a little late, based on a recent trip to Colombo full of a lot of Fika! 😊 Culturally, it's probably the Swedish or Finnish equivalent of the British high-tea as well! #the100dayproject #100daysofdiscoveringwords #elleluna #fika #morewatercolours
