Every person on Earth must have the Northern Lights on their travel bucket list, we are sure of that (who wouldn’t enjoy all that aurora?!) And once again, here’s something that is so incredibly gorgeous, it will make your jaws drop. Philip Dubbin, an amateur photographer got hold of some great shots of the Northern Lights, but on the other side of the globe! Yeah, these illuminated shots of the sky are in Australia!
Dubbin, 53, is an IT worker by day, and photographer by night. One night he headed to the Mushroom Reef in Melbourne, and boy oh boy was it his lucky day or what??!
This magical phenomenon is what they call the southern hemisphere’s own version of the Northern Lights. This visual phenomenon occurs when electrically charged electrons and protons speed up across the Earth’s magnetic field and ‘collide’ with neutral atoms in the top layer of the atmosphere.
Beautiful, isn’t it?
